Nimmi's ode to Singapore50...
"We moved here in 2002 and were apprehensive of the move and unsure of living in Singapore after moving from a vibrant city like Hong Kong. We found it amazing that Singapore and its people were so welcoming and in a very short time we felt right at home here in Singapore. I feel that Singapore is a lovely place to live with both my children having spent their growing years here and holds many fond memories for me to cherish all my life.
The founding fathers of Singapore and specially LKY have given a lot of thought, time, and vision in the building of the country in the last 50 Years to make it a Developed 1st World Country and at the same time one of the safest countries in the world. The constant innovation, improvements and the planning being undertaken in the country of how the country should look like 15-20 years from now are clear examples of the Vision LKY had for the country to move forward.
LKY was a man who lived and breathed Singapore, he loved the country and dedicated his entire life to the building of the Nation, his words "Even from my sickbed, even if you are going to lower me into the grave and I feel that something is going wrong, I will get up” show his deep love for the welfare of the country and its people.
Thanks to Demure Drapes for doing this special dedication for SG@50 and including me in this venture."
